The journey begins...

Crystal has started the treatment program to fight her cancer. She will be doing chemo and radiation together for the next six weeks to see how her body responds. Mondays she has both treatments together and Tuesday through Friday she does radiation by itself. Crystal is an oncology nurse at Kaiser where she is being treated. So although she is familiar with her surroundings, it is something very different being on the other side. She is so fortunate to work with an amazing group of doctors and nurses who love her very much. Along with the very powerful medicine comes great caring from her friends and co-workers.

Whatever your religious beliefs, we ask for your continued prayers at this time. Please pray for Dr. Azar and the amazing staff at Kaiser Oncology, for Crystal and her family, and for the team of caregivers that are ready and waiting to do their part.

It feels like a sprint right now but we need to get in shape for a marathon. Crystal ran one a few years ago and I know that it requires amazing strength and determination. She has them both. We are all ready to run along with her. I hope you will join us.

  1. It seemed like it wasn't all that long ago when Crystal became a member of the LaGrange family, and oh how proud we are of both of them. As a mother & father it is one of the joyful moments in life that we all learn to appreicate, and never take for granted.
We've watched them grow as husband and wife, and mother and father, and to see those grandkids growing as they are, happy and content, we know that God joined these two for a reason.
They are both being tested in a way that most couples don't think about this early in life, but the prayers, love, and support from family & friends will surely help to get them through these times.
Crystal & Jason your both strong and loving, and know that if anyone can win this marathon it will be you Crystal.
    Love

  2. From John & Linda Hoblit/West Union...
Seems so recently we saw you all in West Union; a wonderful loving family; and, then the pictures of the entire family's vacation trip, all together, this past summer. Life's challenges can blast us so very fast. BUT, the power of prayer & faith; of dedicated, well-trained doctors and ~ MOST OF ALL ~ the determination & willpower of the two of you, Crystal and Jason, to fight this battle with all your might is crucial - and, you know that. One more thing to hold on to - hundreds of families will have also included you in their prayers - count us in. God bless you all. Hold each other close.
    Sincerely, John and Linda Hoblit

  4. You do not know me, I found this story on your cousin's blog. I want you to know that I have made a commitment to subscribe to your calendar and pray for you on a daily basis. I know that God is an awesome God and that He is all powerful! My two year old always tells me "I want to hold the moon, Mommy." and I respond to her, "It's just too high in the sky for us to reach." But, I am telling you that God created the moon and the stars and placed them where they are, nothing is too high for Him to reach!! God Bless You and your family, I will be praying complete and perfect healing for you, Crystal!
